People cannot enter to my site at some hours

Hi guys, I have this problem:

People cannot enter to my site (including myself) at certain hours, there's not a pattern unfortunatelly so I cannot pinpoint what the problem could be.

Is that a dns, ip, server related problem, a site problem or a user problem? I haven't changed a thing and is happening to me too.

Has this happened to somebody else?

Any ideas?. I will really appreciated any input since this is driving me nuts.

Thanks.

Are they getting an error, or just a site unreachable?

Sounds like a hosting/server problem

barcena 01-18-2009 04:23 PM

In my case I just get an unreachable site page, at least once a day, the usual blank page you get when you cannot enter to a site "The page cannot be displayed" blah blah blah.... not error's up until now, just like if the page weren't "there". Don't know about the rest of my members, I will have to ask but they just says the cannot enter so it seems to me they also have this blank page.

I would ask your host about this.

This happend to me before. Im almost certain your on shared hosting right?

If so, you need to upgrade your hosting. :)

Lynne, I asked them, they don't know.

NittoMOD, I'm on a virtual private server, I cannot upgrade more, next step will be to have my own server and there's no need for it.

This is the data as right now, but right now I don't have any problems to enter to the site. I should point out that if people enter trought anonimous proxys or pages like anonimyzer (or some like that) they do CAN access the site. Weird.

Their answer was "Looking at your VPS, I'm not finding any issues or errors being reported by the web server."

Have you tried looking at your access_logs and error_logs around those times? Have you had your server optimized over on vb.com in the Server Configuration forum?

Hmm. What hosting company? My site is on Godaddy's Shared Hosting Unlimited plan and it runs smoothly (now, never did before on their cheap shared plan).

Seems like your using a lot of memory and storage. (unless im reading it wrong which i hope i am)

These are my specs with godaddy's Unlimited Plan -

http://www.godaddy.com/gdshop/hostin...ed.asp?ci=9009 It's pretty good for the price.

barcena 01-18-2009 08:41 PM

I was w/ godaddy with their best shared plan and my site crashed continously, it took a lot of resources that's why I'm on a 90 bucks a month server, is a virtual personal service, let say a slice of the server is yours.

Yes I do have a lot of traffic, lets hope this plan will hold stil since is not that I have a mega forum.

Lynne I will tell my webmaster to look at those files since that part is chinese to me and I'll comeback w/ an explanation.

If any of you happen to have any other thoughts let me know please. Thanks.

If you could get a screencap of the page, that would be good.
