Changing forum from folder to root?

Hello!

Just one doubt: what do I have to do if I want to change the forum from a folder to the root?

I have ftp access and I am the administrator.

Thanks.

Drag everything from the /forum/ to the root folder.
If you have any absolute locations set to files or links you'll have to modify them.

You'll have to change the forum location settings under vBulletin Options as well.

And make sure you update the URL set in the vBulletin Members' Area.

Thanks guys!

But if I change the domain will I need to install again?

So now you're changing domains too?

No, you won't have to go through an install but you will have to copy over the files and then do a "restore" of your database on the new domain.

Thanks for your help.

Basically, I changed te domain, but same server/hosting, so I used the same database.

It is working fine right now, except for the images, which kept the old address. I changed icons, smilies by hand, and it worked. But now every mod I install the images for it do not show up.

Anything I am missing here?

By the way, I changed the forum address on vb options - forum URL and homepage URL.

Admin CP > Styles & Templates > Style Manager > StyleVars

Make sure the image paths are correct.
