Free Banner exchange ???
 

Just thinking how we could perhaps help each other out and i'm thinking perhaps a free banner exchange. How about that?? if we all exhanged banners which rotate with a simple code then we'll all benefit in promoting our forums with other forums, knowing that with every 10 impressions your banner will be shown 10 times on another board.

Would something like this work do you think??? Main thing being its all free :rolleyes:

That's a great concept, but I'm afraid it wouldn't be all that successful without targeting content. Google AdSense became so popular because of it's targeted traffic. If we all put in a banner or link into a single banner exchange, we'd need it to be targeted. For example, if I add my generic sports-based forum/website, it's not going to receive much attention when shown on a tech-based forum/website. You might as well have shown another tech-based forum/website or something more appealing to the demographic.

Note: I am not by any way inferring that us geeks don't follow sports. With that said, Go Dallas Cowboys!

Please use this thread to discuss the benefits (or not) of banner exchanges. Please do not use this thread to get exchange deals with others.

the best banners exchange you could find is a TopList... each member can enter the list by selecting the category they are related with, and when you apply the toplist script in your site, you can select to display random sites or only sites related to your category.

if it's just an exchange of banners, no need to activate the Top side of things, just a listing can do.. but the logic of the script remains... :)

benefits of a system like this?! friends, similar interests shared, and better indexation / backlink... if the engine is well written, google and yahoo will index all the list, not only your site, so your reference will raise.
