French Press, Coffee

1 Attachment(s)
When I make coffee at home I perfer to use a French Press and to grind my own beans. If you haven't tried one I would recommend you do. I think the coffee tastes more flavorful.. :D

I've never tried one of these or had coffee from one. Is there really much of a difference?

Yeah, since the grounds sit in the water longer and keep extracting you can choose if you want a lighter or stronger flavor.

Coffee makers are better for large groups of people coming to get a cup. If you only want to make a few cups or use a more expensive bean I perfer a press.

For example... I have a coffee maker and fill a mug for the drive to work because I don't have a lot of time to use a press. But on the weekends it's nice to grind up some coffee beans, use a press, and have a nice breakfeast... ;)

I use a French Press regularly however I use it for environmental reasons to cut down waste and energy use. I don't have a small coffee maker so its difficult to make just one or two cups for my own use but I can make a cup at a time in the press without any problems. Don't even have the regular coffee maker out of the cupboard unless someone is coming to visit because no one else in the family drinks coffee.

I only drink coffee at work, we have a maker, and good coffee, and it's easy to make :)

I like buying a bag of gourmet beans and for one or two cups it's perfect. I have an expresso machine too but that's takes more time to make so I don't use it that often.. LOL

My daughter would love this. Do you know which brands or better bang for the buck?

My daughter and I were just in an Italian coffee shop to purchase a high end expresso maker and it was very much worth the money. We love it so far. After we got the hang of it and all gagets that go with it it was a breeze operate. Of course, mom always go to this particular coffee shop to enjoy the tall, dark and handsome evironment:D but this time it was to by my daughter's Christmas present;)..OMG I'm going to hell, I aksed them if they were hiring and got an application for my daughter! Isn't that just sick. :erm:

Their are some that keep the coffee warm, but they are all about the same as far a quaility (as long as they are glass and metal...).

Target has a great selection... Walmart has one or two..

Just enough for a large mug first thing in the mornings, as i have to drive about 60 miles just to get to work :o

You can't beat real coffee :D
