Finetuning my new server

I am on a duo quad now with 8GB RAM and 2*450GB Raid1 15000RPM
MySQL is 5.0.58 and PHP (with APC) is 5.2.8

I got about 300 to 400 users simultaneously.

What would you set in the options of mysql (for open connections and other things relating to performance ...)
