Using Paypal for premium membership/social network
 

Hello,

I have a question regarding the social networking aspect of the latest VB. Here goes: I would like to offer levels of membership - basic and premium. I understand one can use user group promotions.

I want to offer the premium to go thru paypal and once the transaction is complete, the user is automatically promoted.

I'd like to see some examples of vbulletin being used as a social networking site like Elgg or PHPfox - are there any such examples?

This is an automatic feature on vbulletin. It is called Subscriptions. I love it. Made over $500 from it :D

As for social networking. More and more features are provided by Jelsoft and with modifications, you can probably get the features shown on those scripts (I don't know the ones you named, but I am assuming with this statement).

Yes, there is also where you can set it to automatic rank change when they buy it. Its instant, and they will be surprised :) Remember to share some of that cash with me.. haha :D

for two custom Usergroups. These groups have access to an area that others can't access.

Initially, I see no change in the forum, or "Subscriptions" option appearing anywhere.

I'll keep looking, maybe the brain is fried after a long day.

This will be a great feature if I can make it work.
