making money from your mod?

What would be a good way to make money from a vbulletin mod that I created? Sell it? One-on-one paid support?

Has anyone here made a few good dollars from their mod?

No-no-no!
you don't come here where 90% of coders do they work for free to wonder how much you can make on us...

to get money must me something really good, and got a a superb support... we are too pampered :D

I made a whopping 2 dollars from my lite version product. My emoticon had one eye missing on the lite variation and a nose. they were able to go pro and reap the benefits of having the eye and nose included. only trouble was the emoticon was a pirate.

It usually costs more money to have what you want created, then to purchase one semi-what you're looking for :(

I'd pay to have mods created, but people usually ask for 100+ *sigh*

To qualify for a mod being paid I'd probably set these as requirements:
  • Fast, Helpful Support
  • Regular Updates (by regular I mean not every year, maybe every few months at least)
  • The modification is of considerable size (code wise)
  • The modification adds a lot of features (not something that is just minor)
  • The modification is open-source (Paying for something you can't see isn't very wise)
  • The modification is written well (Bad code = bad mod)

That's all I can think of right now :)

Adding to Deceptor's list:

The product must be supported by more then a single person. (1 person who don't have time anymore and the whole project could come to a halt)
