Forum Manager, Add forum
Hi,
I have a skinned VB and it looks great, works great, except if i go to the forum manager and go to add a new forum, the new forum loses all formatting completely on the Forum Home. The other forums i created before i skinned the VB look fine, but this new forum after the skin is missing the header, formatting, etc. what template deals with how the new forums are formatted?? any ideas on what would have been changed?? if you need code from somewhere please ask and i will provide it. Thanks so much in advance! Em |
They should all be the same. Perhaps a link to see the issue would help - a link to a 'working' forum and a link to a 'non-working' forum.

I'm running it locally, but i can show you a screenshot and my code for the forum home template, maybe that's where the problem is? hmm
HTML Code:
$stylevar[htmldoctype] |
You are talking about the different size of the posts/threads table? Unless they are all in the same table, or you fix the width for those columns, they will be different.
As for the other, it is probably a different template and you haven't modified it. Do this - vboptions > General Settings > Add Template Name in HTML Comments > set to Yes . Then go back to your page and view the source code and you will see the name of the template called around your part of the code. Then modify that template to be modified like you did the others. |
it says its using: forumhome_forumbit_level1_post....the error is in this template i assume, as it has been modified...
the other threads are using: forumhome_forumbit_level2_post how do i change / fix this?? this is so frustrating! --------------- Added [DATE]1229716267[/DATE] at [TIME]1229716267[/TIME] --------------- Never mind........Got it, GEEZ! set the forum to act as a category and not a forum....all fixed. good thing is i dont want any forums on my home page...otherwise id be effed. ARGH that made me mad though, seriously... LOL thank you SO much for telling me about the HTML thing, that was a HUGE help! Merry early Christmas! Em :) |

You need a parent category for that forum you created. Create a new forum, set it to act as a category, and then make your forum a child forum of that. edit: Didnt read your last reply, glad you got it work ;) |
