Add game in the ACP problem
 

Hi all,

I've had my site up for a few months now, with no problems at alland have over 7000 games installed. Now all of a sudden when I go into the ACP and try to add a game it just gives me an error message (see screenshot).

I've tried updating everything to the latest version (Arcade and vbulletin) in the vain hope it would fix the problem, but no joy.

I'd really appreciate it if anyone knows of a solution for this. My Arcade files are set to 777 in the CH mod, I just cant understand why it's decided to stop working all of a sudden.

Have you asked the server people ??

I've now asked the server people (hostgator) if they would look into it for me, which they kindly did.

I gave them access to my ACP so they could see the problem for themselves, and they did. Sometimes you can add games and sometimes you can't, and it's becoming a case of can't more and more often.

The server people seem to think it's happening because there's a huge amount of files in there and the system just can't cope with loading it all up so it eventually fails.

Does anyone know if there's a solution to this, can i delete any of the tar files without losing the games? Or is it just a case of not loading up any more games? Or would a different host be the solution?

BTW, I have about 7500 games installed in my arcade so I don't think there can be many more to get but it's just a pain not being able to access that part of the ACP.

You havent deleted any tar files after you installed the games ??

I delete the tar file after installing...

With 7500 games,,you have only installed about half the games that out there,,,that I know of..

Oh dear, it looks like I may be more of a noob than I thought....

So, let me get this straight. I add the tar file via FTP, install the game via the ACP and then it's ok to delete the tar file, it's isn't required for the games to run?

The tar file is not required for the game to work...Its only for installing..
