Ad Location in Templates

I was experimenting today with the Ad Location templates in the style manager.

I placed some text into the ad_navbar_below teplate and saved and re-loaded but nothing was showing up in my forum on the main page. I also tried some HTML and into a couple of the other templates and still nothing is showing up on my forum.

Is there a place where this must be turned on to have the text show up in the forums?

I am using V 3.7.1

You need to make sure you have the ad_location template variables inside your templates and you are editing the correct skin

Do you have $ad_location[ad_navbar_below] in your navbar template at the very end?

No I was not aware that any other editing would be needed other than to add the html coding into the ad location templates. Are there any step by step tutorials on this?

You shouldn't need to edit any other templates once you added the code into the ad_location template.

The only time it won't work, is when your style isn't 100% compatible/upgraded to your version of vBulletin properly. If you used an older style with modifications, chances are good whoever updated it didn't revert the templates and reapply the modifications, or simply left out the ad_location variables.

To add it back in you simply use the style manager to edit your navbar template, and at the very end, place the code from above. Chances are good most of the other ones won't work either, but try them out and see if you can get the code to appear.

Thanks for the input - I did find what was wrong... I put a google code at the bottom of my navbar template and once I switched the two and put $ad_location[ad_navbar_below] at the very end it worked fine.
