Database error.

I got about 12 of these today. Any idea why?

Unless the error is happening frequently, I would not worry about it. It may be that the host is just restarting the MySQL daemon.

It happened about 15 times in 3 days or so. Is that considered frequent? I am also getting these errors on the server:

I would contact the host just to see what was going on. Do not worry about 404 errors (generally), it's usually people looking for random files that don't exist. But it looks like you have setup your 404 error page as 404.shtml, but that page doesn't exist. Also, your favicon file doesn't seem to exist either.
