Hello,

Have you had a drop off in spam registrations since recaptcha became available to all in 3.7.4?

No.

No, but I don't use recaptcha. Question and answer verification on the other hand pretty much completely killed spam.

No bots; wish we could get rid of the human spammers... I still get about 5-15 a week.

We used to use the vBulletin Captcha but when that got thwarted we moved to ReCaptcha, because I haven't got much time to create several questions for the Q&A.

Before the Captcha was broke, we got absolutely 0 spam bots, but once we were forced to switch we get one every other week or so.

So in short, No, it hasn't reduced spam on my forums.

So spammers are senseless trashing machines with no earnings at all? Ummh... I will do a documentary... 'A Spammer Life' :D

My sons and my wifes forum were getting flooded by spammers. My sons forum runs SMF, my wifes forum uses VB.

After I installed recapthca on both forums, the spam stopped.

Both forums were getting around 5 spammers a day signing up. 2 weeks later, not a single spammer has gotten through. But recapthca only works on bots. But then again, its impossible to keep human spammers out.

It has stopped all the automatic registration bots. But there is nothing you can do about the humans with nothing better to do. But the SPAM is wayyyyyyyyy down, from 50 a week to like 1. :D
