Testing and Impex
I have a new forum vBulletin 3.7.4 PL1. I've done a few test posts with a few other testers. About 10 accounts. All of these test posts and test accounts except the Admin account can be deleted. The forum is on a test server. I am going to migrate a live phpBB3 forum using the Impex importer.
I want to do a test run. So do the full import into the test server/forum. Then test it out with everything imported - on the test forum. The live phpbb3 forum will be operating during the testing (but I will shut it down temporarily during the import) so I will need to do a second import for the final migration. So after testing if everything looks/operates OK I want to empty the test forum and start from scratch to do the second and final import from phpBB3. When that is done I will move the vBulletin forum to the live site. I'm actually changing servers at the same time so it is essentially just a DNS change to make the test site live. Now after all that preamble this may sound like a simple question but here goes: What is the best way to empty the imported data from the first import to get ready for the second import? |
