How to use embed code without a BBcode mode
 

Why does the embed code from youtube, google video, yahoo video not work? I put it in but the script automatically translates the video url's in the embed code into links.

If you are having problems with a modification, you need to post in the modification thread. I suggest when you do so, that you post exactly what you have done so they can help.

Naa, I messed up the title

This isn't about BBcode. I want to know why vbulletin doesn't let you use embed code from sites which give it out publicly.

All I want to be able to do is copy embed code from youtube or any other site and drop it in a topic on my site.

I can't though. When you click submit the topic still shows the embed code and the urls links.

Why doesn't it embed?

its simple, just use ame 2.0 and let it do it for you

I have passivevid.

The problem is this.......liveleak changed their urls. All liveleak video is embeds, but it's just a black window with controls. Nothing plays even if you click play.

So to by pass this, I want to use their own embed code. Or at least try it.

You probably could drop the embed code in if you have html enabled and you turn off automatically parse links in text (although I am not sure of this because I don't have html enabled on my board).

Hi Lynne, I don't have HTML turned on on my board either, I'm only going to turn it on in one forum. Where do you turn off parsing links? Is that in options?

It's not an optoin in Quick Reply - you must do Post Reply or hit Go Advanced and then its an option above "Attach Files".
