Thinking about buying

Hi everyone,

I run a phobia support forum for people suffering with phobias called www.ofear.com and currently thinking about upgrading to vbulletin to further develop the site and offer members more features.

Unfortunately I don't have any experience with installing the software and styling/coding, adding mods etc so before I decide to purchase the software I was wanting to know if it was easy to hire people to do the above tasks and if anyone can come recommended?

Thanks in advance

John

to install vb isreally easy.
All u need is a host with mysql so u can make a database etc and from that u just edit the config file to include your database name and password.
From that vbull can be up and running in less than 10 mins.
You dont need to be thinking about paying someone as its very easy to do but if u dont feel like doing it yourself then when ordering vbull u can also order an Installation for a set fee which should make things a lot easier for u.

i believe vb can installed it for you to your host for a reasonable fee.And because certain mods are plugins its easy to install them unlike phpp its hard coded vb is alot easier to mange.

all info is at vbulletin.com

Good Luck ;)

The thing is I'm looking to have the vbulleting forum setup on a different domain name to my current phpbb forum but on the same server first. Then have the vbulletin forum styled to match my current header as I have merchandise with this on so I want to try and keep the forum in keeping with this. Then I would like my web pages associated with my old forum integrated into the vbulletin forum. Finally transferring the phpbb database over to vbulletin and back to the original domain name of www.ofear.com.

I'm really not capable of doing this so just looking to find someone suitable first before buying the software.

Thanks for your reply - it's much appreciated.

John
