Error Message When Upgrading to 3.7.4

I just upgraded from 3.6.8 => 3.7.4 and everything looked great...any problems that I had before were fixed and so I attempted to make a post to let my members know that the forum was upgraded. When I did that, I noticed that none of my smilies were clickable and when I hit the submit button, I got this error:
---------------------------------
The following errors occurred with your submission:

1. The message you have entered is too short. Please lengthen your message to at least 1 characters.
---------------------------------
I changed the template to see if it was just the one I was using and all my templates do the exact same thing. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks :)

One of my co-admins and some of the members are able to post fine while myself and my other co-admin gets the error message I posted above. No one can use smilies at all...they are not clickable. I'm really freaking out here that I've done some major damage to the forum and hope that someone can help me get this straightened out.

Is it possible that I should've upgraded to 3.6.12 instead of 3.7.4?

I am thinking that having my custom templates are causing troubles and so I deleted them and kept just the Default Style. I'm going to re-install hoping to fix the problem. I'll be back to post if I don't manage to get things sorted out :(

Did you make sure to upgrade all your templates when you did the upgrade? Try this - Create a new style with no parent - Styles & Templates > Style Manager > Add New Style > no parent - then browse the site using that totally default vbulletin style - do you still have the same problem?

Thanks for the suggestion about the template issue. All is fixed now, thank goodness! Thank you :)
