Event Categories?
 

Is there a concept like event categories in vbulletin? I'm creating a page for a school and putting the registration dates for each version of the class on the calendar. For instance we'll have a "Novice Dogs" training class that starts every week and runs for a month, so we'll have like 4 or 5 "Novice Dogs" registration dates listed. We also have "Beginning Puppies" class that is set up similarly.

I'm setting it up so that users can register for the class using the built in event manager.

I also have a static page set up for each class that shows the description of the class, etc. I want to be able to list below that all the upcoming registration dates for that particular class. I can write queries/addons to do that part no problem, but to be able to separate out the ones I need, I need to have the concept of an event category.

Does that exist at all or am I going to have to roll my own version that as well?

Oh, you know what, I just noticed you can add custom fields to a calendar. I can totally work with that. :)
