Crazy idea? or thesible thought?
first off, hello! ;) i have recently 'migrated' over to vbulletin from PHPBB (as i found their lack of security, features, and such terrible), aswell, i could see many possibilities for a idea i had sprouted, but forgotten about due to the limitations of phpbb.
to put this as simple as i can, i am trying to design a system where it will do the following: #1 reward users for varying actions (posting, threads, whatever) with some form of currency. i have seen quite a few mods able to do this. #2 bridge my site into a single login, with only vbulletin, normal html/php webpages, and copper mine photo gallery. i understand a special program is required to do this, forgeting the correct term. #3 have a mod of sort, which the currency mentioned above could be spent on, to be given a 'subscription' style access to certain pages, such as say a bonus picture gallery, or such. that is the 'super dumbed down' version of what i am currently aiming at. i understand it is going to MUCH more complex to do, but i am willing to expend the time/effort, and likely needed money to do it. i just need to know if all of these three things are even possible with vbulletin :) thank you again for any help! now to go hunt down a dark theme that isn't... yuck. :P SabbyKat |
Hello Sabbykat,
Glad you made the switch, and most these are already readily available. Check out some of the points and credits system available for download in the modifications area. |
yes, i was aware many of these are available, but was unsure if linking such things together would be doable into the manner i wish. but thank you for the reply, very appreciated :) i'll update this a bit more clearly tommorow when i am actually conscious hehe.

these things are possible to do - vbCredits which is one of if not the biggest points/currency system here are currently in beta mode of vbCommerce which will be an addon inwhich people can buy/ spend their credits on certain things.
And it is possible to port vbulletin with nonvb pages |
vBCredits, seconded. Likely that the only thing close to being able to accomplish what your trying to do.

ty both for further info :) good to get a name on what i should look at haha, i wish i came to vbulletin from day one *Sigh*
