Embed Excerpts in Website

Right now my forum is in a directory on the same domain as my main website.

I would like to embed new posts or selected posts from the forum in an area of my main website -front page.

The idea is for the sample posts to act as a teaser and also keep the website front page fresh looking.

Is there software or some other technique that will allow me to do this?
