Guest viewing threads?
I have my "guest" usergroup permissions set up to not allow any viewing permissions. They have to register before they can view any part of the site. However, when I go to the "who's online" section I consistently see a guest that is viewing threads and pms. When I hover over the box next to the thread listed it says "viewing no-permission message" but the actions that this guest is taking really looks like they are viewing the site. They'll be on on thread for a few minutes then go to another and this happens daily. I can't imagine they are sitting reading the "no-permission message" daily. Any suggestions?

Won't let me view without logging in
Could they be spiders from the search engines???? theres a mod on here that lets you view spiders on the forumpage perhaps that might help?? |
I can't view either. Was your forum public at any stage? If http://www.thegapspot.com/showthread.php?t=xxxx was ever spidered before the bot will return to try view. You don't seem to have an threads indexed on google anyway so I wouldn't panic.
also your archive link throws out a 404 http://www.thegapspot.com/archive/ww....biz/index.php |
Thanks for the replies. Yes, it was public at one time. I did install the mod to view spiders. I'm pretty sure that's what I'm seeing. Thanks again.
