Italian Themed Style

Guys, I need your help.

I'm a complete n00b when it comes to this kinda thing. I've had a bash at it already, but on large screens it just looks naff.

Here is my current attempt at an Italian themed style: www.puntosports.co.uk/forums

Anything over 1024x768 looks a bit grainy and horrible so I fancy a redesign.

Anyone feeling brave enough to have a go? Thanks.
