Problem with loggin in
hello
i got a many complaints from our site members about loggin in When the enter the user name and password.. although everything is correct they are signing out automaticallyy it is becoming a big issue is theer any chance to fix it plzz help me iam using 3.7 version |
Seeing as you dont provide no link or list any useful info, like hacks installed, ill ponder a guess.
When they try to login, they login at www.ursite.com, when they automatically get logged out, they are at ursite.com, note the missing www. You running vbadvanced? Change your cookie domain in the admincp to .ursite.com, note the dot on the front there. Tell the members having issues logging in, to delete their cookies from their browser and restart their browser and then try logging back in. |
To troubleshoot this, please remove any hacks and disable your plugins, then see if you still have this problem.
Note: To temporarily disable the plugin system, edit config.php and add this line right under <?php define('DISABLE_HOOKS', true); If so, reupload all the original vB non-image files (except install.php). Make sure you upload these in ASCII format and overwrite the ones on the server. If your problem still exists, please create a new Style with no Parent set. Now browse the forum using this new style, do you still have the same problems? If you are troubleshooting login or guest issues, you will need to set this style as board default in the vBulletin Options. |
thansk a ton for your help.
Iam not using vb advanced this is my homepage url :- http://www.malludreams.com not all the memebrs got this problem only a few has reported this issue... but iam afraid.. other got this same problem and not reporting it.. Or is there any chance to keep the memebrs loged in all the time.. i mean no need to enter their username and password when they visit each time |
What is special about these users?
Do they use the same browser? Do they use the same style? All do not check the Remember Me box? Do they use the same URL (www.myurl.com or myurl.com)? |
i dont know...
but they reported these issues |
Well as an admin of the board you are in the position to get more information. I can not guess it for you.
|
I notice I can get to your site at both www.yoursite.com and just yoursite.com. Sometimes that will cause cookie problems.
