Using Postbit and Postbit Legacy

Not really a hack but I have seen this question asked about a million times. How can I use postbit and postbit legacy at the same time!

Well the answer is super simple. First off chose which you want in your Style Options.

Lets assume you chose Postbit.

In order to use both Postbit and Postbit legacy, create a new child theme:
Style Manager -> Add New Style -> Choose a Parent Style

Now In the new theme you have created, goto the Edit Templates and choose Postbit

Paste the Following:

Yes. This will work on any version of vb 3.X+.

The way you'd use this is to, again, create a new child style, then apply the child style to whatever forums you'd like the postbit_legacy to show in, whereas your main theme would use the postbit template. :)

It didn't say it looked any different. It said how to use it and postbit at the same time. I pretty much do this on a few of my forums.

You probably should have mentioned that they need to set the forums the want using this other style in their Forum Manager.

So basically, you are offering your members two styles that look the same (one being a child of the other), with the child having its "postbit_legacy" code as the "postbit" code, and vice versa.
