How does the custom forum status icon work for vb 3.7.3?

Hi vborg,

I tried using the prefix method, but its not changing. How do I get custom status icon images for each individual forums?

How do I use the prefix method located at admincp>forum manager>forum>Prefix for Forum Status Images

I want my forum to look like this...

http://rchobby365.com/diendan/index.php?styleid=13

See the custom status icons?

Please if anyone knows how to use it, please respond back. Thanks.

Thanks for the reply Myscha but that is not what I am looking for. I am looking for the status icon on the left side of the forum to be completely custom made for each individual forums just like the sample above.

I tried the admincp>forum manager>forum>Prefix but it is just showing it in the subforums and not the forum home.

This is my site..

This is the subforums...

As you can see it is only working on the subforum page and not the forum homepage.

My guess is that the template used on your forum.php page does not include the prefix. Go to edit the template, hit View History, and Compare your template to the default vbulletin one and add in the code for the prefixes.

Hi lynne, Thank you for the response. I don't know which template to edit in order to do this. Which template is it?

Lynne 10-25-2008 04:12 PM

Do this - vboptions > General Settings > Add Template Name in HTML Comments > set to Yes . Then go back to your page and view the source code and you will see the name of the template called around your part of the code.

I still don't quite understand which template I should edit. Which template can I put the code in?

Should I put the code in the forum home template?

Did you turn on the "Add Template Name in HTML Comments" option like I suggested? That puts the template name in your source code. So, turn that on, go to the page you are wondering about the template for, and view the source code around the part you are looking for.

I am pretty sure it's not the FORUMHOME template. I think it's one of the forumdisplay_xxx templates, but I'm not sure.

LYNNEEE!! IT WORKED! Thank you so much again! You helped me once again! I actually had to edit the forumhome_forumbit_level2_post

I found out that it was different from the default style because of your great tip!!!!! I am so happy I can just kiss you! hehe. How can I ever thank you?!! Anyways, thanks for not giving up on me. :D
