Help with a HTM page, then a link to the forum
I know I should have done this 4 years ago, but I have a site, thats getting busy, and I have had interest in some companies supporitng it with ads and such, so I want to reformat the way I am doing it.
Right now its all in the root directory on my server so index.php in in the main folder if you will I was trying to put a index.htm, hoping that would be read by the browser first, then a link to index.php I does not work, so If I create a directory " forum " and move all of the Vbulletin folders there, as well as the index.php then I would have to make a link such as www.aircraftmechanic.org/forum/index.php only problem with that, ALL of my photo links are simply www.aircraftmechanic.org/photo.jpg Would I have to go back, and manually change every single photo to reflect /forum/photo.jpg ? are there any other things that you know might have to be changed? thank you in advance steve |
Why not just change your index.php page to forums.php - make sure to change it in vboptions > forum home page options > script name for forum home page > forum.php
and then you may create a new index.php page. |
then the index.htm will come up first
then a link to forum.php for the board, that actually sounds workable as hell then I can keep my mess of one directory for everything lol Awesome Thanx ill try it steve --------------- Added [DATE]1224917050[/DATE] at [TIME]1224917050[/TIME] --------------- I must be dense, cant find the forum homepage options ill wait till im awake and try it again LOL |
