banning users
how can I do an "invisible ban"?
where the member can post but nobody else can see his post? |
It's called Tachy Goes to Coventy which is in your User Banning Options.

Is that like a 'so he doesnt know he's banned' sort of thing? Kinda interesting function/feature - What's the point of it? Is it basically so they can post, but no know their banned?
I feel dumb cause from the sounds of it, thats what it does, but not sure why or what good it does.. (for future references incase I might need it lol) |
Yes, that is basically it. They can post away thinking they are still a part of the community and not realize that no one can see their posts.
|
I presume Admin and Moderators can see the posts???
Correct? |
Yes, I seem to recall they can. Or rather that the post has a 'placeholder' and it says something like "The Administrator has decided that xxx should be quiet for a while." but they can click to see the post (I think). Try it on a test account.

There are several bugs that prevent this from working 100% correctly
If they have a bunch of posts in a particular thread, there will be empty pages at the end also if they start a new thread, others can see it, but there is no first post when they open it otherwise its quite amusing :) |

server CO is reporting a lot of isses after the ban was done. |
@jk ... i think that you really need someone having an eye on your site, globally... you have numerous errors, and you do not seems to be able to fix any, so instead of working more and have a risk to break more, mayby asking for pro support would help ???
