Need to know before I buy

Is there a way to combine multiple vBulletin forums together and use a single sign on? If someone could point out a mod, I'd appreciate it.

Otherwise, I'm going to have to hack the crap out of phpBB3.

TIA,

Scott

Good luck with hacking the crap out of phpBB3 ;)

I obviously don't have the desire to (otherwise, why would I be here? (yes, that's hypothetical)).

If anyone could point me in the right direction, I'd appreciate it.

SSO is possible, and can be accomplished pretty easily. I have not seen a free/paid modification available though.

Do you know someone whom I can speak to about modding my site(s) to share a single login system? Before I buy, I want to be sure this can be done, and have everything in place that I need to. Unfortunately, I can't go into the mod section without a valid license on hand and ask these questions of the modders/developers.

TIA,

Scott

The other tricky part to what I'm trying to do, is to be able to import the 2 or 3 phpBB3 forums into the already established vBulletin forum, but then go through & remove duplicate acccounts, but make sure to "relink" the posts & pm's that those users have made, in the forums that they've posted them in.

Is this something doable?

Again, I really don't want to buy vBulletin, and then not be able to do this.

Thank you for the help.

Unfortunately, pre-sales is restricted to "this is possible" or "this is not possible". Technical details cannot be discussed in pre-sales. But I know for a fact that it can be done.

ImpEx (the vBulletin import system), will automatically merge accounts with the same username and email address.

Will ImpEx merge accounts based just on email address?

Thank you,

Scott

I know, i was merely answering your question.

Sure anything is possible, and it may have been done a time or two before, but if you decide to purchase vBulletin you'll notice the huge demand for this exact thing, and no ready solution to it

This is a interesting idea for a modification, I'm going to take a shot at this and see what I can do for a SSO.

I don't actually see the demand for SSO as anywhere huge. The use of the same user information (this is different) is noticeable and has already been answered to many times.
