Can I read PM's if I'm the Admin..is there a Hack??

Just curious...is there a hack to read PM's of members that are being sent. I searched and couldn't find one....just curious. Thanks!!

search "read" "all mods" "titles only" and you'll get your answer from the first thread.

This isn't meant to be a critism but can I ask. Why do you always give directions on how to get to the thread rather than a link?

Because then they hopefully learn how to use the search for themselves.

If someone asks for help doing something on a computer, isn't it better to tell them how to do it than to just do it for them? If you just do it for them, then they don't learn anything. But, if you tell them the steps to do, then after a while they learn how to do it themselves.

Oh, I also post the search stuff because not everyone gives all the specifics of what they want - like version or required options. If I just post a link, then often I get told "but I'm on version 3.6 and that is for 3.7" or "but I need it to also do *this*". If they do the search themselves, then they can go through the threads and find the one that is right for them.

If they don't learn from your signature (I did), do you think they will read the thread. And good point about the versions, but in this case, the mods are only available for 3.5 - 3.6. I also spoke to the developers about this so hopefully they will make a PM log sometime in the future.

You can turn signatures off, so not everyone reads them. Also, not everyone reads my sig even if they can see it. And yeah, it says it's only for 3.5 or 3.6, but he never said what version he was on, so..... And also, many 3.5 or 3.6 mods will work with 3.7.

Really? The only ones I've tried have said something like "This mod can only be used between 3.6.0 - 3.6.9".

I'll give it a go. Thinks. :D

You should set your signature as a global announcement or get lots of people to put it in their signatutes. ;)

When they first implemented the system to put in mod versions, it caused problems because people limited the versions. But, you can edit the xml file to get rid of that (or maybe ignore it on upload?). I've actually never come across that problem, so I have no personal experience with it.

Hum, because i hate answering people who can't use a search engine only once.

I have never touched a .xml file in my life. I always edit files within vBulletin or pay people to do the dirty work for me ;)

Fair enough. I usually just send links.
