Old or New Trick? :O
 

I was browsing happily vB.org when I received a 'PRIVATE' call, and I picked the call, then an automatic voice told me:
after a pause the system said:
so I laugh and I hung up, but then I started thinking, it's an old trick or it's new? I can't retrieve the phone number from my online bill :confused:

That's quite new, at least for me.

WOW! :eek: That is totally unheard of. I wonder if the phone company of police would care to track that scam? :confused: I doubt it. :p

I would assume that is a scam. However, in a case like that, it's scary to think how many peeps would reach for their credit card though.

Its a fairly old trick actually. At least since the 80s. Might be new to cellphones but has been used in the analog world for a while. Used to target families of people who were incarcerated.
