Strange Registrations

All of a sudden I am getting a few registrations on my board that the users are not verifying with the email.

How can you tell if it is a bot, or legitimate registrations.

Also can some one recommend a good plug in that will stop the problem if it is a bot doing the registration.

reCAPTCHA does a good job.
