Ability of the moderators to hide a specific thread?

Hello all

I was wondering if there is any hack or mod that could enable the moderators to hide a specific thread for a certain period of time and then make it re-appear after that period of time passes?

For example we post a certain topic of general knowledge for a quiz competition. We disallow users to copy stuff from there, it is just there to learn. And when the quiz time is near, we hide the thread and post the quiz. then once the quiz is over, we again re-appear the thread and give out scores.

Is there anything that resembles my request?

Can't you just "Unapprove" the thread, putting it into moderation, hiding it from all users except for mods/admins? That's default vB functionality, should do what you want. :)

i mean through the thread tools we can unapprove it?
