all messenger links showing offline

In a user's cp, even if they have yahoo messenger, AOL messenger etc logged in, their status shows offline. Where do I go to look for the cause?

We're running 3.7.3.

Thanks!

What status? The only status indicator is if a user is online on the forum (and not set his status to Invisible).

I mean if a user in their profile has set up yahoo messenger, AOL mesenger, etc user IDs. Then in their profile, there's the status indicator for those apps. However, say I'm running Yahoo messenger and am logged into it, my user profile doesn't show me as logged in to Yahoo messenger. It says I'm offline even when I'm not.

Is this a setting somewhere?

Thanks!

Default vbulletin does not show the online/offline status for AIM, or YM, or any of those. There was a modification to do this for 3.0, but I don't know if it was ever ported to 3.6 or 3.7.

Hmmm, musta been something installed with my theme from extremepixels but that seems odd that a theme would add that fucntionality.

Is there a way to make it check to see if the user is online?

Thanks!

Yes. There was a modification, as I said. I just searched on "status" "all mods" "titles only" and got this - ICQ, AIM, MSN, Yahoo Online Status

Well, I tried that one but it didn't work. That stinks!

I used the version for my 3.0 version and it worked just fine as long as the server I was getting the status from was online. That was always the problem when I was using it - I was always having to change the server I was using for status. If the server was down, sometimes it would have an affect on some users trying to read the threads since it would keep trying to connect. There are instructions on the site on how to host your own online status indicator.

When I went to their site, it says the forum is down so I guess I'm screwed. There were no intrcuctions in the included install.txt file as to how to configure that server address. I don't know what to do from here for 3.7.3.

Thanks!
Buster

You don't need the forums. If I recall, you find the options added for this in vboptions and simply put in the url of the server you are going to use to get the status. You get the server url at onlinestatus.org under usage or find out how to host your own under hosting. I only see three servers currently listed.
