thread bumping

hello

i was wondering if there's a way \ or a mod

so the system could bump threads after a certain amount of posts

Lynne 09-25-2008 04:02 PM

You *want* to have threads bumped? (Most people want a mod to prevent thread bumping.)

ShMilO 09-25-2008 04:56 PM

i'm posting reviews on the forum

and since some reviews have more posts than others
and some reviews don't have any

i want a way to control the bumping or the order of how they are displayed
i tried the regular options in the forums & leaders options
they don't have what i need

You can sort by post count (number of replies) in the forum.

Have you tried the Nova Bump Thread Script?

why are we so against bumping anyway? lol

is it just a vbulletin thing or do all boards look down on it?

Not everyone is against thread Bumping. Infact, I presisted in having a coder write a bump thread modification for the purpose that I find it very usefull. Especially when I need to bump a thread like "stickies" or other important threads that i don't want to keep posting in. Simply because a thread is bumped doesn't mean someone has to reply to it to bump it.

It's not just bumping - it's repeated quick bumps - that's when it gets annoying. Also, it's bumping of old threads, or gravedigging, that's also annoying.

On my forum, my users have fun having a bumpfest and trying for a FPW (all in the appropriate forum, of course). It's always fun to guess the commonality of the threads they bumped. But, this is only allowed in the play forums. If they did this in the serious forums they would see my whip come out!
