Change forum directory from "/" to "/forum"

I have lots of pages indexed in google, but I need to change the index of the forum from www.mysite.com to www.mysite.com/forum but I want the users to be able to click in the already indexed links and automaticly change the link with the "/forum" link. I've seen this in lots of forums.

I also would want to know if just moving my forum folder via FTP would do or I need to do something in the database.

You can setup a 302 redirect that redirects anything in "/" to the same file in "/forum".
