I can't seem to remove the background and make it just plain white and the font black.
Edited both "forumhome_forumbit_level1_nopost" & "forumhome_forumbit_level2_nopost" but can't seem to find it. Can this be a CSS error?

the color you see mostly likely is the tborder CLASS added to the <TABLE>

to fix just add

HTML Code:

style="background-color:white"

to <TABLE>

if you are having problem I recommend comparing the modified templates with the default templates or you can revert your templates
