Mass copy threads/posts??

Is there any way to mass copy threads and posts from one forum to others?? Or copy the entire forum to another?

Thanks

Yes, that's what the little checkboxes are for when you are inside of a forum area. Highlight all the threads you want to move by click on checkboxes and then using the moderation tools down below.

I mean for copy not move! :(

you wouldn't believe the amount of people who have asked this, inc myself, it seems that it goes unanswered every single time, you would think this function would be default for VBulletin????

so a suppose the answer is no, there is no way :-((

Well, you could potentially double, triple, quadruple your post count if you "copied" threads from one forum area to another.

Why not just move them??

(Just wondering.)

example why this is needed :

someone has a permission based forum where in order to access the Premium material within it you have to subscribe, when the material is decided to be not premium anymore ( updated material may be available) then these threads are copied to a forum with no permission so the original is where it was posted and we are making it readily available, for free, to users in order for them to see the material we had as premium and they will get sooner than normal if they subscribe??

Hope that makes sense LOL

p.s this would only be for administrators to use, it wouldn't matter about my post count as i could make that what i wanted anyway, if i choose too.....

+1

So what we are going to do!?! I need this function very much! Is there any solution??

Marco van Herwaarden 09-23-2008 08:38 AM

Moving the thread to a new forum and leave a redirect would be the best solution. You don't want to duplicate the content.

chris_psycho 09-23-2008 11:42 AM

No i actually want to duplicate the content. Sth like global announcements, but only in specific forums! Any help?

Marco van Herwaarden 09-23-2008 04:46 PM

Global announcements do not duplicate data. There is only 1 version of the data, but it is displayed on multiple locations.
