Automated Post #'s????

Hi Folks,
Quick question. I really like vBulletins but I need to get some additional functionality that doesn't come with it out of the box. The vBull folks on-high said to post my question here to see if it's possible, get tips, or to find someone to write a patch. Anyhow, here's what I need...

Every time a person posts a new topic, I need a reference number to be automatically generated in the subject line. This reference number will be used by folks not native to the message board to find and read posts that have to do with them. Hope that makes sense.

PS. I'm not that technical but I do have folks on my team who can translate and implement if someone has a solution.

Thanks in advance,

Matt.

Yes - it is possible, and should not be too hard.

vbSEO and some other SEO engines are having it automatically, we call them "callback" or "pingback" ... the original vBulletin have something similar but is not showing automatically...

But would this be a mod or something in the CSS? Or elsewhere? Could you point us in the direction of some instructions, possibly?

Thanks!
Julie

Where might a setting be found?

nexialys 09-23-2008 02:33 AM

it's not a setting, it's an internal variable you can use and add to a template...

but this is pre-sales questions here, no technical detail given!
