I've lost mysql - urgent help needed
I was getting an error message earlier ("MySQL Error : Got error 28 from storage engine") because the part of the hard drive my database is on was full. I followed the instructions here to move the database but I think I've messed it up and now mysql is stopped and won't restart. I have tried to put it back as it was but it won't restart. I must be missing something but I can't work it out. Is anyone experienced with this and able to help? My site is down at the moment and I don't know what to do. :( I need someone who understands how to set up mysql on linux. My hosting company are useless - no support from them. Please message me (or reply here) if you can help!!

Do you followed exactly this description ? Could be that some permissions are set wrong, user has another name ... if possible, can you find mysqld.err or _hostname_.err (_hostname_ is like it says your hostname) and look there for some useful info ?

Have you tried clearing out /tmp?
If you are using cPanel try restarting MySQL via SSH instead. |
