Switching to sub-domain
Is it possible to switch an install of vbulletin from sub-folder to sub-domain and preserve the pre-exisiting content?
In other words, my forum is currently installed in "www.mydomain/forum/" ... I want to change it to "http://forum.mydomain.com" If I do this, will it screw up the linking structure and old posts? Or is there a way to do this while preserving everything? Thanks in advance for any help. |
I'm pretty sure it can be moved easily. Just move the folder, change the forum location that's set in the Admin CP and that's it.

Yeah - that's pretty much it. If you don't want to loose your traffic/SEO you'll have to use a redirect that redirects all the old posts to the new posts.
