Suggest vBulletin 4 style as board of the month?

If the vBulletin 4 style is a really good style, and I wanted to nominate the official forum as a way of nominating the style, would there be any rules about that in the Board of the Month threads?

Talk about planning in advanced... although I doubt vBulletin.org would have a problem with it I think they'd rather have someone else's board on there.

Maybe I have just misinterpreted the threadstarter who's name I have forgotten.

Oooh I made a post at exactly 12:00 :D

But I think Shelley_c has pretty much answered this topic. :)

As Shelley mentioned already - only the forum owner can nominate his/her board....

Also, the BOTM contest should be about more than the style. Those who second forums should be considering how well a communities overall presentation and functionality works within their audience.

In other words , the contest is should be judged by multiple dimensions...not just style, how active it is, who the administrator is...etc; etc.

Then the point is whether most people judge on anything other than if they like the forum administrator or if the board looks nice. I'd doubt it.

I doudbt it either hence the "etc etc" in dannys post. Either way, Wouldn't it be a little superficial judging a botm purely for the style? I'm all for the visual aspects of a forum though this is a mere speck in what criteria that makes a worthy contender of BOTM not down to a style and how it looks visually.

Let's say for arguments sake you are allowed to enter the vb4 style in vb.org BOTM. Can you start to see how silly that sounds? A wacky vb.org BOTM badge plastered on vb.com. :erm::p

On a random note though, isn't the idea of only the board owner nominating their forum kind of silly, because it stops people nominating boards they're just fans of and forces it to be a competition of administrators proud of their own boards nominating themself. Or something, I just think it patently ridiculous.

Agreed.

We have no plans to change that rule.
