User Profile Field : Edit ?

Hi All,
I created a User Profile Field that needs to be filled up by members during registration.

Now, if I EDIT that User Profile field (Lets say, I changed the text of one of the options), will anything happen to the values already chosen by my existing users ?

I mean, will there be any data loss ?

For example, lets say, I have a Single-Selection Radio Button field with below values.

What is your location ?

1) USA
2) EUROPE

Now, if I change it to:

1) UNITED STATES
2) EUROPE

Now, will anything happen to the data of my existing members who have chosen USA when they registered ?

Please clarify.

And where can I get detailed information on User Profile Fields ?

I once changed my options like you are talking about and the database fields stayed the same. In other words, anyone who had already selected USA still have USA in the field.

As for detailed information, have you looked in the manual (link in my sig)?

Thank You.

My problem is: I am sending bulk emails based on this custom field.

Now after I change the text for custom field option, if I send a BULK EMAIL for all users who selected 'UNITED STATES' as their location, will the email go also to the users who selected 'USA' earlier ?

I don't think so, it will look in the database for where the field says "UNITED STATES". (Try a test to see.)

I have no idea what you are talking about in relation to this thread and helping Suri. If you need help, you should start your own thread with your own questions.
