how to hide the date and time from certain threads or posts
How do I hide the date and time from certain threads or posts?
I use the word "hide" because I dont want to remove the date and time forever. I also dont want to mess-up or alter the post sequencing in any way. I just want to make it so that no one can see when certain posts; or posts in certain threads; were made until, or unless, I decide to un-hide them. |
There isn't such a default option as far as I can remember. You'd probably have to edit the postbit(_legacy) template and remove it from there. Although that would remove it from all posts.

Yeah, that would remove it from all posts; which doesn't help because I only want to remove it from certain posts.
And I'd already figured there wasn't a default option to do it. What I'm asking for is a plug-in code or something; basically a hack to tell my board to hide the date and time from the posts or threads I dont want the date and time to appear on. It seems simple enough to me; something that is certainly possible, given the complex modifications I've come across on this site. Question is, will somebody show me how to do it? |
Don't know if it helps you but here is something you might try.
First, open 'postbit'(or 'postbit_legacy' whichever you use) for edit. Look for: Code:
$post[postdate]<if condition="!$show['detailedtime']">, $post[posttime] Code:
<if condition="!in_array($post[postid], array(number1,number2,etc,etc))"> Code:
</if> Code:
</if> Hope it helps. Shishir |
Yes, it certainly helps. In fact, it works just the way I wanted. Thanks!
