I am looking for the hack that displayes the latest # of threads on the forums. I want it to display title , the first couple of characters of the text and anything else extra.

I noticed some sites use this for example Eva used it on his main page nicely in the middle listed all in the middle. Also I noticed SitePoint forums have it.. exactly what I want

I did a huge search for this hack on these boards but was unsuccessfull. Please help.
