Text in footer of forum index only?
 
I'd like to be able to add a portion of text to the forum index so the search engines can read something.. but only on the forum index, not duplicated anywhere else.. anyone know how I could go about doing this?

Have had a bit of a play about and found the 2 templates
FORUMHOME, and
footer

Thinking that i can change the 2 FORUMHOME template references in index.php, then do a new FORUMHOME template referencing a new footer template?... Am I on the right tracks?

Put a condition around the text in your template you want only on your index page:
