Where are vB templates stored?

Pardon my ignorance.

I had vB re-installed (not upgraded) and then attached it to an existing database and I still see the old templates. Are templates stored in the database?

Yes, templates are stored in the database. You are able to Export your styles (which includes the templates) and then Import them if you need to keep a copy of all of them.
