Login issues
 

Why is it when i log in to my own forum it takes me to the loading page then it takes me right back to the log in section like i am not logged in. Then if i where to click on the forum link it shows me logged in. Does anyone have an idea what can be causing this?

Take a look at the url and make sure they are consistant - ie. they are all www.yoursite.com or just yoursite.com Also, check your cookie path settings - you should not have changed them at all.

where would i look in the Admincp to find that login url

I'm thinking of your site... when you go to login, do you go to www.yoursite.com or just to yoursite.com? And then when you click on a link on your site, does it go to www.yoursite.com or to yoursite.com (you can change that at vboptions > Site Name / URL / Contact Details > Site URL)? It used to be (and could still be if you modified your cookie settings), that if you logged in at www.yoursite.com and the links took you to yoursite.com, then you would have the problem you are seeing.

After i type in my user name and password then click login it shows the loading page. After the page loads it takes me back to the login page(www.racersweb.com) and not the index.

Is this happening to everyone or just you? Have you tried clearing your cache? Have you tried it with a different browser to see if you get the same results? And, have you changed your cookie settings in your vboptions > Cookies? (Also, you said it takes you back to the login page and not the index.... but isn't www.racersweb.com your home or index page?)

I just checked and if you click on the links, you are taken to racersweb.com/thislink.php... not to www.racersweb.com/thislink.php. You should try to be consistant in what is to be used or you could end up with this sort of login issue.

lynne, So i tried a diffrent browser i tried to clear cache, and what it shows the page loading (http://racersweb.com/forums/login.php?do=login) then after it loads it goes to my url (www.racersweb.com) I heard a few people where having the same problem.

Do you think it could be that i have my login directed to go to the wrong place or what? Because when im in the forum it shows http://racersweb.com/forums. There is no www.

Check your settings under vboptions > Site Name / URL / Contact Details > are you being consistant with the url in both Forum URL and Homepage URL?

That looks fine. How about the settings under vboptions > cookies? What are they set at? Did you change them at all?
