Hook Variables and Actions

I would like to make a simple plugin that will make a post when a thread is closed.

I'm new to hooks and I have no idea how to go about this. Can anyone show me what hook I need to use and what variables are available (such as the current forumid) so I can have the proper data to make the bot post? Thanks.
