Is vb_postindex necessary when using the sphinx search engine?
 

Hi,

We are using the sphinx search engine on our vBulletin. We are currently looking at ways to streamline vBulletin due to the sheer size of the instance we are running (a mysql dump of the database is in excess of 9gb).

As far as we can ascertain, the vb_postindex table is surplus to requirements as we do not use vBulletins built in search engine.

In which we could drop the table from the database, which would significantly reduce the size of the database and cut out a vast amount of unnecassary database calls.

Can anyone confirm that doing this is safe and will not break any other part of the application?
