Got this message, please advise!

This was the message i got from Hostgator the otherday and now my site has been turned off.

Has anybody got any advice please?

This message is to advise you of a temporary block placed on a file or folder under your account. The account referenced above was found to be consuming an inordinate amount of system resources , to the point of degrading overall system performance.

While we do limit each account to no more than 25% of a system's resources in our terms of service, we do not actively disable accounts until they greatly exceed that number, which is what happened in this case. Fortunately, we were able to isolate the cause to a small set of files/folders. Rather than disabling the entire account, we were able to disable just those files/folders.

It was necessary to disable these items to maintain a minimum level of proper service for everyone else. From this point, the following options are available:

a) Block heavy users of your site, if any, that may be causing excessive load.
b) Optimize scripts (php, etc) that may be consuming a large amount of cpu and/or RAM.
c) Upgrade to a dedicated server; your site may have outgrown a shared environment.

Please let us know if you have a solution you feel would resolve this issue. Should a solution not be forthcoming, we are happy to assist you with an upgrade to dedicated services, where your site will have room to grow without affecting other customers. I appreciate your attention to this matter. Thank you.
all the scripts they were asking me to optimise were VbSEO, but this has been running for months now.

Thanks

Same thing happened to me with hostgator the other day. We ended up uninstalling vBSEO. Now I've got all sorts of redirect issues.

What a headache...

Host providers are getting to many client's on one box.
Thus, reducing your allowance of "cpu usage"....what a joke....

They tell us we can have the world to get us to host through them,
unlimited this, unlimited that.......
But, they neglect to say: You are on a shared cpu, so if you use to much resources,
we will shut off your site, Thank You and have a great day. :)

Ask at the vBSEO forums then, its an issue with their scripts, according to your host.

problem is that HostGator will not let anyone access the boards, so it'd be tough to pinpoint the issue when the boards aren't working.

You guys should try out BlueHost. I'm using them, they seem pretty cool.. so far no downtime or anything. So far, it's been 2 years.

I am with xxxxx. Our down time was bad over the last month,
but that has been corrected.

We were moved to a new box. Their support team is very good.

I have a few vb site's up and running on my domain, along with countless other site's
and program's, including Teamspeak & Vent that I host.

Switch hosting companies or hang out til they catch up with vb.

You've got like over 100 people online atm, 400 total registered users visited today, a shoutbox and topX stats, if you're on shared hosting you should probably be upgrading anyway sometime soon to increase performance.

My host offers me just about unlimited everything. And I am testing that to the fullest.

I can say that they have kept up to their end of the bargain.
