pre-sales Q: 'guests first post only' mod question
 

Hello,

I am still in the pre-sales mode, and very close to purchasing.

I have a question about the 'Guests First Post Only' mod by Dismounted.

Can this mod be also used to display the first post in threads in forums that are paid subscription based?

So that only paid subscribers to a particular sub-forum can view the entire thread? but other registered users, guests, and SE's can view the first post?

I'm not sure about per forum, but I'd assume it'd be possible for only paid users since it currently likely uses usergroups, so you'd just change the usergroups allowed to see from members to paid subscribers.

My guess is that when/if you are licensed, ask the modification author.

I am the author - and it is possible, but not without modification to the modification.

Woud this modification to the modification ;) be difficult to make by someone with little experience with the vbulletin platform?

Most likely, I would be able to guide you through editing it yourself. "Find and replace" ;).
